Shop Translated Struts New Custom Homepage Banner Image Map

Shop Translated, a Yahoo! Store focusing on “translating” modern fashion trends for plus-sized women, recently up-styled their store. FastPivot’s development team assisted in the development of enhanced functionality, stream-lined interface and behind-the-scenes management systems.

The site was widened overall, a new background was added, an enhanced footer was integrated. and the cart was wrapped to match the store. The item page was adjusted, tabbed content functionality and icon links for sizing chart and social features were enabled.  A drop-down navigation was added and context-specific left navigation on interior pages. Also section page sorting without pagination was added to the site.

Back End Image Map Manager

Post-development, Shop Translated’s Yahoo! Store became more user-friendly for both shoppers and merchants. One important feature to further discuss and highlight is Shop Translated’s back end homepage banner manager that was reconfigured and installed. Notice above on the large homepage banner, there are multiple photos that link out to different sub-pages.

Before, for each page the merchant wanted to link to, they had to slice up the main banner image into pieces and add that piece of the image as a special image on the back end. We improved this back end functionality by creating a scenario where now all they need to do is upload their big banner and behind the scenes, they can decide where each section is going to link.
