How To Use Google Trends And Twitter To Promote Your Business

Google is especially good about indexing live Twitter posts occuring in response to new product launches or¬†at conferences, shows, events, etc.¬†If you can find a way to¬†associate with a trending topic in your Twitter posts,¬†it’s likely that you can ride that wave of popularity¬†all the way up to the shores of temporary famedom on Google’s search results (of course you must make a habit of this practice to gain any long-term value from it).¬†Take this trending topic¬†phrase for example: “Back with Mac” (a live Apple event¬†occurring today)–just typing it into a Google search¬†yields the normal line up of urls, but notice at the¬†top, there are over 1400 recent updates from social media¬†sources: Twitter, MySpace Facebook etc.¬†If we click to see more, what comes up¬†is a string of recent Twitter posts. Of course MAC retailers &¬†service shops, along with the media might leverage a trending¬†topic like this. To find a trending topic relevant¬†to your own industry, check www.google.com/trends often.¬†There you have it, just another¬†way to leverage Twitter to promote your business.
