Official Yahoo! Store Update Saves Customer Data for Quicker Checkout

The official Ystore blog recently announced that the new “Saved Cards” feature for Yahoo! Stores is now available for use:

By giving registered customers the ability to save their credit and debit card information to their account, along with the billing address associated with each card, Saved Cards lets customers breeze through checkout without having to re-enter their payment and billing address information every time they shop at your store.

The strategy behind having customers use this new feature is simple: the easier it is to check out, the more likely customers are to buy. For those who don’t already know, customers really loathe having to re-enter personal information before they check out, especially for stores they shop frequently. This new “Saved Cards” feature should make shopping more convenient and checkout a breeze.

In the ecommerce world, little functionality tweaks go a long way. Taking full advantage of features which improves the customers’ shopping experience can literally translate into many thousands of dollars of extra profit.
