When FastPivot’s President Matthew Ledford and Director of Strategy Grant Henry arrived at this week’s Internet Retailer, Chicago, Conference with a Mobile-Store-Design-Beta crowds flocked.
With the world going mobile, many more shoppers are making purchases from their smart-phones everyday. Online stores that aren’t willing to build a mobile version of their stores are losing customers and money to stores that have already gone mobile.
When considering your upgrade to mobile, keep these mobile store statistics and insights in mind:
1) Your site is optimized for a 17 inch computer monitor. You need a store optimized for a 3 inch mobile touch screen to reach today’s shoppers.
2) Your smart phone visitor conversion rates are low because it is difficult to purchase on your big site. Mobile shoppers don’t like shopping on regular sized sites because regular navigation appears clumsy and impractical from a mobile smart phone. Optimize your online store for mobile shopping and mobile shoppers will automatically be detected so your mobile store navigation can adapt to their needs.
3) Smart phone mobile commerce (mcommerce) is growing at a rapid rate: There are 280 million mobile phones in the USA. By 2011, 50% of mobile phone users will be using web-enable smart phones. Of current smart phone users, 37% have made a purchase from their phone.
To increase your online store sales, consider our limited Beta-Mobile Store Design offer (average increase has been 119% according to our own five- month mobile studies).
