FastPivot.com has launched online stores for top national brands since 1997, but during that time has never taken for granted that every store brings something special to the ecommerce community. Take, for example, our most recent launch: Punk.com
According to Punk.com’s new about page, it was “the brainchild of the fashion minded folks at Newbury Comics. Newbury Comics is a Boston based indie music and pop culture store, founded in 1978.¬† The original store sold everything from Doc Marten’s boots, to studded leather goods and Boy of London clothing. Newbury Comics now has 28 stores, and operates the independent clothing store Hootennany located in Harvard Square in Cambridge, Ma.”
As a new online presence, Punk.com is radical enough as it is, but as visionary store designers, we see it as so much more than a new edgy fashion store. Its technical IQ is high enough to short circuit R2D2’s self image and its aesthetics would blow the sides off a 1950s hair-sprayed pompadour quicker than you can say “mohawk”.
