Everlast : Pulling No Punches – The 60-day Build -Fast Yahoo Store Build

FastPivot Proud of Everlast Fast Track Yahoo Store Build

Over the years, FastPivot has offered services to nearly every gamut of business and industry. Serving the budding start-up, proof-of-concept projects, as well as larger brands means we have to consistently adjust our approach. We are reminded that every business has a wildly different set of goals and needs. The experience also reminds us that at a fundamental level, a business wants to be visible and serve well the needs of those it intends to serve. It’s simple.

Every so often, we get the chance to work with a brand that has not only been around for decades, but also carries a name that resonates with the general populous. Everyone knows Everlast. Everyone has had their hands on a piece of Everlast sports equipment at some point in their lives.

So, what is the difference between an established brand’s process and a new startup?

There are business-level requirements that guide the general direction of the project. But at a tactical level, the process for assessing a build project remains the same. An established company has workflows that are firmly established. It is important to provide a solution that does not require a shift in day-to-day processes for the new store owner. Launching an online store should not require changes in protocol – just add to it. For an easy launch and scalability later on, one must make new systems work with existing systems.

Everlast chose Yahoo! Merchant Solutions for a list of reasons. Between Yahoo!’s flexible template language and our own software and customizations, FastPivot was able to not only fast track the project, but get a solution in place that works with Everlast.

It was important to build shopeverlast.com in a way that did not require many third party add-ons and kept the core of the shopping experience in Yahoo! Store. A few special features:

  • Automated swatch controls and image changeouts
  • Non-traditional store hierarchy and dataset
  • Real time changeout of system-built messaging
  • Integration with backend order management system
  • Custom Dynamic navigation
  • …all built around graphical requirements provided by Everlast

The store was built in the remarkable span of a tight 60-day window, requiring everyone on both sides put in their best to make it happen. Shopeverlast.com launched on October 1st, 2012 to maximize the opportunity of the store during the holiday season.  The FastPivot team is very proud of our process & partnership with our clients that make this amazing timeframe and impressive site possible.

The FastPivot team loves working with top brands. Every experience differs but they are not so different. In fact, we were reminded of how similar building an online brand store can be. It truly excites us to join our experience to brands we are proud to be associated alongside and to maximize the opportunity of offering their products online.

The Everlast team was a pleasure to work with. They were not only interested in what buttons to push, but how it all worked. Those are our favorite kind of clients! We are looking forward to continuing the innovations on shopeverlast.com.

We would love to hear from you!
