FastPivot is all about improving company performance through solid leadership development opportunities, so when it came time to attend the internationally syndicated Chick-fil-A Leadercast conference again this year, we MOOved our busy schedules aside and planned to go. This year a good number of the FastPivot team attended the conference (in-person) from the Biltmore Baptist Church location in Asheville NC. Among those who attended were: Matthew Ledford, President & Co-Founder; Keith Enloe, Vice President & Co-Founder; Daphne Kirkwood, Director of Human Resources; and Jonathan Poston, Director of Social Media Communications.
It was amazing to hear top thought-leaders like John Maxwell, Seth Godin, and Sir Ken Robinson expounding on contemporary leadership topics, but what was most inspiring was the fact that this conference brought together an audience of leaders from all around the world to discuss the hot topics of the day.
While it was quite a feat of technology to pipe in the conference to live audiences situated at 13 international locations spanning the globe, there was a simultaneous “Tweeting” ( hash tag #cfaleadership) that stirred up some old fashioned campfire kumbayah.
Social media is influencing worldwide leadership and revolutionizing modern civilization around a 24/7 digital campfire to which people of all nations can freely gather. The global “social” force multiplier we witnessed during the conference was another reminder of the “Flat World” in which we’re all living and how the solution to many of today’s challenges is now possible through “leader-to-leader” dialog from thousands of miles apart. Conversation is after all the basic building block of our global society. In order to lead like Maxwell instructs, or innovate like Robinson suggests, it’s going to take collaboration. The most powerful leadership always considers first what’s best for the group, not what’s best for the individual, but to do that, leaders must do something that’s quite rare in many parts of the world: talk the issues out.
Conference Highlights
Even on a national business-practical level, the social synergy at Chick-fil-A’s leadercast spoke volumes. For example, FastPivot’s core philosophy embraces such abstracts as innovation, craftsmanship, commitment, etc. but what brings these concepts to life is how we each translate their essence into such actions as project management, product development, or even our social activities. Social platforms like Twitter, also allows the FastPivot team to join hands around that digital campfire to learn how we can best serve our clients, partners, and company.
FastPivot offers social media packages which help ecommerce companies of all sizes thrive in this quickly evolving digital economy.
