Are Yahoo! Store Websites Good for Beginners?

Perhaps due to the economy (traditional business is down while ecommerce is up), we have more beginner merchants than ever before calling about how to start an internet business. Many of those haven’t committed to the Yahoo! Store platform and are “just shopping around.” When we ask, “Why consider a Yahoo! Store as you plan your website business?,” many don’t really have an answer; so in this blog we’ll go over the benefits (and caveats) of creating a new Yahoo! Store.

The Yahoo! Store platform is safe and scalable, which is why merchants, small and large, choose Yahoo! Store development. There are also some really great custom Yahoo! website style guides available for a very reasonable price, especially for those with limited budgets. FastPivot’s Yahoo! developers created this one below especially for entrepreneurs or small business merchants looking for something affordable, clean, and professional:

However, it is important to note that while custom Yahoo! Stores can be affordable, safe, and effective, they are not turnkey after the rtml programming is complete and the Yahoo! development team has passed the baton. Beginner merchants are often at a loss about how to make changes to their Yahoo! Store, upload product data, or just how the store functions on the back end in general. Programming isn’t required, and merchants can do everything on their own, but there is a learning curve to understand how to use a Yahoo! Store.

FastPivot realized early on that not many beginner merchants want to pay rtml development rates for Yahoo! Store training, so a series of Yahoo! Store training classes were developed, and are held now on a regular basis. Many of our small, medium, and even large size clients have taken advantage of these affordable workshops to learn how to use the Yahoo! Store platform.
