Jewelers will be speaking at the Oct. 10-12, 2011 IRMC (Internet Retailer Mobile Commerce) conference in Houston, Texas. His featured presentation, You don’t have to be big to have a big mobile presence, will take place LIVE Oct. 12, during two sessions — 11:45 AM & 12:15 PM.

Session description:

Starting in 1988 with a single store, Ron Yates expanded his jewelry business into catalogs and in 2002 focused the launch of his Internet presence on an emerging market niche: titanium wedding rings. With customers increasingly accessing the site, Titanium-Jewelry.com, through mobile devices,Yates optimized the site for mobile commerce in 2010, achieving impressive increases in transactions and revenue. It doesn’t take much to get started in m-commerce. Technology providers offer tremendous expertise and a business model that enables retailers and other businesses to go mobile for a small investment. A smaller merchant who has reaped the rewards of an outsourced mobile initiative will discuss how the company chose its provider and the process of launching the mobile site, and offer lessons learned along the way.

A few months ago, Ron Yates on behalf of Titanium-Jewelry.com, partnered with FastPivot and Monitus, to discuss mobile commerce in a webinar titled: Tracking Mcommerce’s MOST Wanted. During that webinar, Mr. Yates discussed key advantages to building a mobile friendly website and some of the mobile commerce traffic and conversion metric patterns Titanium-Jewelry has experienced over a measured period of time.

Because Titanium-Jewelry.com’s mobile commerce solution is developed and powered by FastPivot mobile, there is featured on FastPivot’s website a “Mobile-Commerce Success Story,” which tells the story of how Titanum-Jewelry.com decided to go mobile.
