Punk.com: Specialized Online Store Design Feature Showcase

Through the use of bold colors, vivid imagery and clean layouts, Punk.com is a custom work of art, in addition to a strong online store. FastPivot.com’s Yahoo! Designers installed some very cool features that are modeled off of a collaboration of leading retail websites.

The custom store areas FastPivot.com’s Yahoo! Designers included were:

* Section Page filtering that is dynamic (managed through a field in the editor and based on their input)
* Previous/Next buttons on product pages (for viewing the next product)

The section page filtering feature takes a Yahoo! Store to the edge with it’s dynamic capabilities.

Using a custom field in the editor, Punk can name the filtering sections and create the parameters for them to work within each category based on the product displayed. So if they decide they want the customer to be able to sort a section by color, or size, or brand, they can create that filter for each specific section.

This allows for parameters that make sense for whatever category they are displaying (you wouldn’t want to sort dresses by the same sizing as shoes typically).

The product pages display a previous and next option to allow staying on the product page to browse. (*Usually, a customer has to use the breadcrumbs, left navigation or browser back button to return to a section page to see the next product in that category). See below video:

FastPivot.com takes delight in creating brand new, custom Yahoo Stores around myriad of cerebral inceptions. We can even re-breathe life into an already-established, under-performing Yahoo Store, without damaging fragile internals. The more specialized design involved, the better!
